Verbier

Verbier is an attractive, modern resort built in traditional chalet style and is home to some of the most challenging skiing in the Alps it is especially popular with the British.

The largest resort in the ‘4 Vallées’ ski region is south-facing with spectacular views of the surrounding peaks. There's a fantastic variety of tough reds and exhilarating black runs for intermediates and advanced skiers, this is an excellent resort for snowboarders who will feel very much at home.

Restaurants are plentiful and the après-ski & nightlife are as legendary as the skiing with a full range of bars.

Villars

With fantastic views towards Mont Blanc and the spectacular jagged peaks of the ‘Dents du Midi’, Villars is an attractive ski resort, a firm favourite with families, the resort has a well-recommended ski school and a relaxed atmosphere. Beginners will love the village nursery slopes and wide blue runs of Bretaye where there's plenty of space on the slopes to perfect those turns, for intermediates, there's a variety of challenging red runs on Chaux Ronde and Grand & Petit Chamossaire, as well as a link to Les Diablerets and its glacier.

The village centre has a good selection of shops, cafés, restaurants and bars.

Wengen

Wengen lies high up on a sunny, sheltered terrace at the foot of the Jungfrau, with spectacular views. Everyone arrives in this charming, friendly village by mountain train as it is virtually traffic-free. The Jungfrau area ski pass also covers Mürren and Grindelwald, and skiers of all grades will delight in the expanse of pistes and beautiful scenery.

The village nursery slopes are ideal for youngsters and beginners, and there’s a great selection of satisfying red runs in the Kleine Scheidegg and Männlichen area. Confident skiers should head for the Eigergletscher, not to mention the Lauberhorn race run! Non-skiers can take advantage of the excellent winter walking.

Zermatt

Zermatt is surrounded by the dramatic peaks of some of Europe’s highest mountains, including Dom, Monte Rosa and the magnificent Matterhorn. This natural ski paradise has one of the longest ski seasons in the Alps and a reliable snow record. This ski area is perfect for intermediate skiers with a vast range of satisfying red runs, and experts will enjoy the mogul field, Schwarzsee’s steep gullies and the black runs in the Stockhorn area.

The village is traffic-free, apart from small electric carts and horse-drawn sleighs, and there’s lots for the non-skier to do, winter walking, snow-shoeing, ice-skating and a good selection of shops.
Excellent mountain restaurants are in abundance and the après-ski in Zermatt is lively.
