Interlaken

Ideal for a winter break and an excellent base for non-skiers and skiers, with three world famous resorts.

The small town of Interlaken is the largest resort in the Bernese Oberland with numerous amenities and a varied choice of excellent ski resorts only 30-45 minutes away by regular train or bus. The Jungfrau Regional lift pass covers all the trains and ski bus to the three nearest resorts of Grindelwald, Wengen and Murren. There are cafes, restaurants, bars, and a wealth of things to do for non-skiers; visit Europe's highest rail station at the Jungfraujoch, or take spectacular walks through the snowy villages.

Kandersteg

Kandersteg is an attractive village surrounded by wonderful mountain scenery, which has preserved its original Swiss character, and enchants visitors with its relaxed and friendly atmosphere. This unspoilt village with its picture-book chalets offers the traditional all-round winter holiday.

The skiing is ideal for complete beginners or for second year skiers wanting easy skiing at a gentle pace, and the cross-country trails are superb. An excellent weekly programme gives visitors the opportunity to experience all sorts of winter activities, from curling to ice-climbing. Après-ski in Kandersteg is low key with good restaurants, cafés & bars.

Klosters

Klosters is a first class ski resort which has preserved its village character and charm. Located only a stone’s throw from Davos, the two resorts share a huge, well-marked piste network with superb skiing for all levels.

Madrisa, Klosters' own ski area, is perfect for beginners and children, whilst the Gotschna cable-car takes skiers up to a range of challenging red runs on Gotschnagrat and Parsenn. The black runs on Jakobshorn and Rinerhorn will test the more experienced skiers and snowboarders should head over to Jakobshorn and Pischa. There are plenty of cross-country trails and winter walking paths to keep non-skiers busy, as well as horse-drawn sleigh rides, ice-skating and tobogganing. Cosy tea-rooms and bars await those returning from a day on the slopes.
