Engelberg Engelberg is situated at the top of a wide, sunny valley and is central Switzerland's best-known ski resort. It is now a sizeable village with many amenities and the Titlis glacier has guaranteed snow even in late season. A great winter resort for families, offering a host of activities. Apres ski is informal there are many restaurants, bars, cafes. There are excellent facilities for non-skiers: miles of winter walks, indoor pools, a sports centre, curling, skating, and a two mile toboggan run. Grindelwald Grindelwald is set amidst spectacular scenery at the foot of the towering North face of the Eiger. The sunny region of ‘First’, Grindelwald’s own ski area, has skiing to suit beginners and intermediates. Snowboarders will enjoy the obstacle park and the ‘Schreckfeld Superpipe’ Grindelwald offers easy access to the ‘Jungfrau’ ski region including the pistes linking Kleine Scheidegg and Männlichen. Non-skiers have fantastic winter walking possibilities, and there are numerous bars and cafés. |
