Zurich
Zurich is a great place to begin a visit to Switzerland. It offers many attractions for visitors of all ages, from the old town to the new, trendy district of Zurich West. Opera, ballet, theater, shows, musicals, art exhibitions, shopping, and museums – Zurich has it all. You'll never be bored in this area!
Zurich also boasts over 1,000 restaurants and bars, where tourist regularly order traditional Swiss cuisine. Night life is electric, with indoor and outdoor choices that will not disappoint.
Winterthur, a town in the Zurich Region, used to be known mostly for industrial means, but now it is a place where many cultures thrive. It is also an important town for museums, sports, and entertainment. There are plentiful bars and night clubs in Winterthur, and here is where you will find the only bar in Switzerland that is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Also noteworthy is the biggest waterfall in Europe, The Rhine Falls, only a 20 minute drive from Winterthur.
At the north end of Lake Zurich is Rapperswil, a riviera that has many tourist attractions, including a castle, a medieval town, a historical wooden bridge, and Knies Children's Zoo. Rapperswil also offers a water park called the Alpamare, as well as a slide and trampoline playground called Atzmännig, making this area a favorite for families.
