Rhine Falls
The Rhine Falls are situated a few kilometers from Schaffhausen, it is one of Switzerland's most famous sites and offer a spectacular showpiece to visitors, the largest Falls in Europe, the falls are 150 meters wide and 23 meters high.
The great mass of water is separated by three rocks, boats depart from the two medieval castles on either side of the Rhine. Taking a boat trip into the basin below you can feel the great power of the rushing water from the rock in the middle of the Rhine.
A boat trip either to the famous rock in the middle of the Falls with a short walk to the top, or across the river below the Falls or down the Rhine River are most exciting events. Starting from the medieval castle ‘Schloss Laufen’ a path leads down alongside the splashing water onto the lookout Känzeli enabling a breathtaking view of the Falls.
